MUNICH, GERMANY — The Foundation of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FFPSA) announced that it has donated $5,000 to the non-profit organization, Bake for Life, during meetings at the iba 2018 trade fair, which was held in Munich, Germany, from Sept. 15 to 20.
Based out of The Netherlands, Bake for Life provides opportunities to young handicapped individuals through the construction of bakeries where they are trained for a career as bakers and ultimately given the skills to support themselves. To date, Bake for Life has launched multiple projects and bakeries in Uganda, Kenya, and Ghana and this donation marks the seventh time since 2012 that the FFPSA has contributed to this cause.
“We are honored to once again work with Bake for Life and support their mission to provide assistance to people who are actively seeking to improve their lives and the lives of their family members,” said Gil Williams, chairman of FFSPA. “These funds have a lasting, long-term impact within the participating communities as they create employment opportunities and help these individuals support their families.”
Ken Hagedorn, vice-president of sales and marketing and a partner at Naegele, Inc., Alsip, Ill., added, “While I have always been proud of our industry, this project is truly special as it goes beyond the bottom line and highlights the good that we can do. It serves as a shining example of what the supplier community can achieve by working together to address issues of common concern.”
Bake for Life mocht tijdens de IBA weer rekenen op internationale steun van the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FFPSA). Dick van der Breggen nam namens het bestuur een bedrag van 5000 USD in ontvangst.
